Two unexpected stopovers in Cherbourg

On the 6th of September, Cherbourg received two unexpected cruise ships this day.

On the morning, The Silver Whisper from Silversea fleet berthed for the first time in Cherbourg port. The remarkable liner of 182 meters length known for his very luxurious atmosphere on board carries as many as 350 passengers and 300 crew members spent the day in Cherbourg.

Later on the afternoon, The Marco Polo of 176 meters length from Transocean fleet has a capacity of more than 800 passengers and about 400 crew members stayed in the port until late in the evening.

Major destination, Cherbourg is endowed with the biggest artificial harbour of Europe, with a surface about 1500 hectares. This artificial harbour which shelters the commercial harbour allows it to be a real safe port protected from stormy weathers, strong winds and swells. Port facilities of Cherbourg are so many elements which allow welcoming cruise ships at the Quay of France at any time.
