Lisbon’s Cruise Terminal designed by architect Carrilho da Graça
The Portuguese Carrilho da Graça is the architect for the new Lisbon’s Cruise Terminal that will be operating by the end of 2013.
From the 37 proposals received, the one submitted by Carrilho da Graça was the best positioned in the international competition that took place for the project of the new cruise terminal in Lisbon.
According to the jury, composed by members of the port authority, a member of the municipality, members of the Association of Landscape Architects, of the Chamber of Architects and the architect Joan Busquets, the project is valued by lightness, elegance and character of the building, seeking a strong dialogue between the city and the river.
Resulting in an overall investment of more than 25.5 million Euros, the new Lisbon’s Cruise Terminal will feature a total area of 7 790sq. meters and it will adopt the concept “friendly”, taking into consideration the aspects of comfort, accessibility, flexibility for the services provided to the passengers and ships, according to the demands of current and future traffic.
