Turnaround & Transit Call News from Rotterdam

JULY 05, 2017

Week 17… it’s been a week to remember. On Thursday, the city of Rotterdam welcomed the beautiful AIDAprima, followed by Caribbean Princess on Friday. The day after, ms Rotterdam majestically revisited its homeport, arriving in the full morning sun. An exciting week, perfectly organised by all those involved. Week 18: AIDAprima and MSC Preziosa spent 24 hours with us, followed by Astor, MSC Magnifica, AIDAprima, ms Rotterdam and Norwegian Getaway. So far the city of Rotterdam has welcomed over 16,000 passengers thanks to these ships (in week 17, 18 and 19, from AIDAprima to Norwegian Getaway). In summer, AIDAprima, ms Rotterdam and Queen Elizabeth will sail into Rotterdam’s cruise port on a regular basis, and so will ms Nautica, Braemar and Norwegian Jade.

AIDAprima (semi-turnaround) will be mooring on a weekly basis until 3 November, Queen Elizabeth five times (semi-turnaround), ms Rotterdam three more times (turnaround/homeport), including one overnight stay. Thursdays are referred to as the German Thursdays because there are a lot of German tourists on board AIDAprima. Passengers are visiting outdoor cafés, restaurants, museums and other sights, shops etcetera. The Markthal too, which is one of Rotterdam’s icons, is always delighted with the cruise passengers.
