Submitted by Le Havre on MARCH 31, 2015
From 22 to 28 March 2015, 7 Italian students from ISSS Firpo Buonarroti, a Genoa Tourism School, and their teacher made a study trip to Havre.
The education provided as part of this training is highly focused on the cruise industry.
Le Havre Club Cruise coordinated the organization of this trip.
The purpose for these future professionals was to discover the organization of technical and tourist operations in and from Le Havre Cruise Terminal.
The program included a reception at the City Hall of Le Havre, followed by a panoramic tour on the 17th floor of the City Hall tower to discover the modern architecture of Le Havre, which is listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage site; a visit to the Cruise Terminal and a cruise ship on call; the discovery of Normandy with a visit to Honfleur and to Rouen.
Meetings with students of the University of Le Havre and Technical High Schools in Le Havre and Rouen have allowed students to share their experiences.
