Submitted by Le Havre on MARCH 20, 2014
Le Havre, known as the cruise port of Paris, is the ultimate stopover of a rich and diverse itinerary, leaving from the French capital, with breathtaking landscapes of the Seine Valley as well as the richness of the historical and cultural sites such as Rouen, Giverny and Les Andelys. Ideally located in the heart of Normandy, Le Havre is the ideal starting point to discover the larger Normandy area, and the DDay beaches. River cruises have regularly called at Le Havre over the past years. Today the MS Swiss Sapphire called at Le Havre for the first time, starting a series of 20 stopovers until the end of October. The representatives of Le Havre Cruise Club went on board this morning to deliver hospitality information and brochures for the passengers and crew members. They will stay in close contact all along the season. Le Havre has 2 dedicated berths for river cruises which are situated in the recently renovated docks area. The old warehouses were reconverted into a commercial center offering a large range of leisure activities. MS River Venture will also call on three occasions at Le Havre this year.
